RESOLUTION 214 (1965) ADOPTED BY THE SECURITY
COUNCIL AT ITS 1245TH MEETING, ON 27TH SEPTEMBER
1965.
THE SECURITY COUNCIL,
Noting the reports of
the Secretary-General (S/6710, Add 1 and 2),
Reaffirming its resolutions
of 4, 6 and 20 September 1965 (S/RES/209, S/RES/210, S/RES/211),
Expressing the grave concern
of the Council that the cease-fire agreed to unconditionally by
the Governments of India and Pakistan is not holding,
Recalling that the cease-fire
demand in the Council's resolutions was unanimously endorsed by
the Council and agreed to by the Governments of both India and
Pakistan,
Demands that the parties urgently honor their commitments to the Council to observe the cease-fire; and further calls upon the parties to promptly withdraw all armed personnel as necessary steps in the full implementation of the resolution of 20 September.
*The Security Council voted on this Resolution on
27-9-1965 with the following result:-
Infavor: **Bolivia, China, France, **Ivory Coast, **Malaysia, **Netherlands, U.S.S.R., U.K., U.S.A. and **Uruguay.
Against: None.
Abstaining: **Jordan.
