Happening in Kashmir

I wish to comment on your excellent news bulletin (The Kashmir Quarterly). I read it completely, from front to back. I was recently in India and I felt completely informed as to what was happening in Kashmir, thanks to your news bulletin.

Thank you so much! I will continue to look forward to receiving your excellent bulletin. Best of luck with your endeavours!

[Your encouraging words are highly appreciated].

The brutal Indian occupation

My friend Muhammad Rafiq, a Kashmiri-Canadian, is receiving The Kashmir Quarterly regularly. I have developed so much interest in your publication that recently Rafiq suggested I subscribe to the magazine.

The Quarterly keeps us in touch with the situation in our motherland (Kashmir) and I believe it is our moral responsibility to inform ourselves and create awareness of the Kashmiri cause in Canada.

Moreover, can you please advise me, and others like me, about what we can legally do from Canada to help our oppressed Kashmiri brothers and sisters suffering under the brutal Indian occupation.

Muhammad Jamil

Montreal, Canada

[Write to your Parliamentarian, the Prime Minister, and the Foreign Minister, expressing your concern about the deteriorating human rights situation in Indian occupied Jammu and Kashmir and encourage your fellow Canadians to do the same].

Kashmir's awareness

Recently, I saw The Kashmiri Quarterly and I was happy to see a Canadian magazine that is completely devoted to the awareness of the Kashmir issue. I am a Kashmiri-Canadian, presently living in Montreal and I am pleased to offer my services to the Kashmiri-Canadian Council as a volunteer

Please send me the magazine regularly and I will try my best to do whatever is possible for the KCC. The first thing I am interested in doing is to introduce the Council to other Kashmiris in my neighbourhood.

Abdul Rashid

Montreal, Canada

[The KCC welcomes you as a volunteer].

Good work

I would like to sincerely thank you for regularly sending me a copy of The Kashmir Quarterly and I will be grateful if you could continue to send it to my attention at the usual address.

May Allah (God) reward and help the KCC for its good work.

Al-Hassan Mahmood

London, U.K.

[We at the KCC will be pleased to keep you in touch with our activities].

A peaceful solution to the Kashmir dispute

I was pleased when I received The Kashmir Quarterly and I and my colleagues are happy to note that the line the Kashmiri-Canadian Council has adopted in publicising the tragedy in Kashmir. Causing international pressure to bear down on the situation is the best way to bring about a peaceful solution to the Kashmir dispute.

I will be looking forward to working with the KCC to help alleviate the sufferings of the Kashmiri people and to achieve our long awaited freedom from an illegitimate Indian occupation.

Mohammad Umar Farooq Chairman,

The All-Parties Hurriyat Conference

Srinagar, Kashmir

[With KCC's ceaseless efforts the Kashmir issue is receiving considerable exposure in the international arena].

Oppressive Indian regime

I am a 19-year-old Science student at the University of Sydney. I would like to know more about the plight of my brothers and sisters who are struggling for the implementation of UN resolutions and working to liberate Kashmir from the oppressive Indian regime.

I personally do not know much about the Kashmir issue or the situation there -- something I am quite ashamed of. However, I am willing to understand and help the cause in whatever way. In the meantime, I hope my small contribution of A$10.00 (Ten Australian dollars), will help. I am asking you for a favour. Please send me, as much as possible, any information about Kashmir that will keep me in touch with the issue, and also, I would like to subscribe to The Kashmir Quarterly -- a magazine which I have found very informative.

[Yes, the KCC needs all the help it can get as it continues to work to build a favourable international opinion that will help the implementation of UN Security Council resolutions on Kashmir and to put an end to Indian state-terrorism in the disputed territory].
